My little parasites
There are parasites living in eyelashes
Eating wayward flakes before my eyes,
They live in intestines and other parts
Of the body, keeping me clean and healthy.
You are born with some, a life time guarantee
And some come of their own accord,
Setting up house keeping.
It's a tidy arrangement.
Tried to grow my own little parasites,
They survived two to four months
Before dying. After years,
Success finally was achieved.
The parasite grew within its protective
Environment, distending bladder and spleen,
Rearranging intestines, reconfiguring spine.
It drained my teeth of enamel, bones of calcium,
Robbed eyesight and equilibrium. It grew
So massive, my stomach bulged beyond breasts.
Legs, arms and other parts were bloated
As blood circulation slowed to feed it.
Doctors had to cut it out of me and still it lived,
Which was the whole point of the experiment.
It sucked my breasts dry and demanded my attention.
Bribed me with kisses, smiles and hugs.
Just to hear its laughter, I fed it, cleaned it,
Put it to sleep.
Then I did it again.
My two little parasites hold me tightly,
I doubt they'll ever let me go.
