There are parasites living in eyelashes
Eating wayward flakes before my eyes,
They live in intestines and other parts
Of the body, keeping me clean and healthy.
You are born with some, a life time guarantee
And some come of their own accord,
Setting up house keeping.
It's a tidy arrangement.
Tried to grow my own little parasites,
They survived two to four months
Before dying. After years,
Success finally was achieved.
The parasite grew within its protective
Environment, distending bladder and spleen,
Rearranging intestines, reconfiguring spine.
It drained my teeth of enamel, bones of calcium,
Robbed eyesight and equilibrium. It grew
So massive, my stomach bulged beyond breasts.
Legs, arms and other parts were bloated
As blood circulation slowed to feed it.
Doctors had to cut it out of me and still it lived,
Which was the whole point of the experiment.
It sucked my breasts dry and demanded my attention.
Bribed me with kisses, smiles and hugs.
Just to hear its laughter, I fed it, cleaned it,
Put it to sleep.
Then I did it again.
My two little parasites hold me tightly,
I doubt they'll ever let me go.
I've got a very interesting writing idea and I am running with it. I actually know how to write it too, which is so different from the way I usually write. All I really have to figure out is the beginning. I mean, I know what I want to write but it actually involves a bit of research.
I'm combining quite a few things I tend to write about or use. Years ago, I wrote a comedy relief character and truly enjoyed it but it was just that, a side point in a more serious writing project. I remember the fun I had with that character and realized I could do something with it now.
I love science. While not a scientist, I find much of the research and the developments to amazing and intriguing. Always fascinated with how much things change as our knowledge evolves and our questions expand. Certainly, Science Fiction is as much a movement (Futurists) as it is a writing genre.
I love the old tales and myths of ancient times. How what was once considered magic can now be explained by science. Still some things don't fall neatly into theories or hypothesis. Just what is believable and what would be considered fantasy or myth? Yeh, that grabs my interest.
So, without telling you the story, you now have an idea of what I am going to try to do. The character perspective is going to be unusual and hopefully, interesting. I can hardly wait to see how this turns out.
on a side note, my youngest, when he realized I was writing today, promptly told the family to not bother me as I was in the right frame of mind and needed to "focus". LOL
I should have taken a photo of it but I kept forgetting. All around the store, the snow was piled high. In many places, well over eight feet high. So high in fact, that you could not see the store, except where I maintain the porch and driveway.
Today, the plowers, payloaders and trucks spent the day removing all the excess snow. Course, they will still be working on it tomorrow and most likely the next few days as well. Right around Thanksgiving, my boss parked his Mustang in the parking lot. Of course, it snowed... and snowed. You could see the top of the car but that was about it, as the plowers just kept shoving snow near it. Eventually, the car was in a snow pack well over thirty feet wide.
Today, I got to supervise the snow removal to make sure his car didn't get destroyed. They got pretty close but left enough of a boundary that I think his car should be able to be moved. Once someone shovels the vehicle out.
I have a feeling tomorrow will be an interesting day.
Some days, the act of breathing somehow seems important. I know that today I am aware of my breathe, consciously saying, in, out, breath calmly and smoothly. It isn't as if I am hyper-ventilating, just that I am aware of it. Just how sometimes, I notice my heartbeat, as if the pulse was all that was important.
Lots going on, selling house, buying new place, juggling financing.
